Vide Noir The Wine Playlist

Lorn Huron

The music of Lord Huron is like a hug wrapped in an dark-star enigma riding a space taxi to the most comfortable place you can imagine. Joyously rich melodies and lusciously textured instrumentation keeps you light on your feet or tight in your lover’s arms, but almost aways aware that the darkness is somewhere out there. Of course we say that, not the band, but when they sited their wine inspiration as a deep earthy red they’d had on a European tour, it struck the right nerve. It is exactly the style of wine that fits their sound, especially these tracks off Vide Noir. We presented a number of viable barrel samples to choose from and they selected a Cabernet Sauvignon from the western flanks of the Mayacamas Mountains in central Sonoma County. It is rich, bright, supple, and complex. And as good as it is on it is on it’s own, the flavors explode when experienced with the paired songs. So turn it up and pour it on.
